Germany is the eighth-most-visited country in the world,[1][2] with a total of 407.26 million overnights during 2012.[3] This number includes 68.83 million nights by foreign visitors, the majority of foreign tourists in 2009 coming from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland (see table). Additionally, more than 30% of Germans spend their holiday in their own country. According to Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Reports, Germany is ranked 3 out of 136 countries in the 2017 report and is rated as one of the safest travel destinations worldwide.

The Location
Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges, and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Frankfurt Airport is a major international airport located in Frankfurt, the fifth-largest city in Germany and one of the world's leading financial centers. It is operated by Fraport and serves as the main hub for Lufthansa, including Lufthansa CityLine and Lufthansa Cargo as well as Condor and Aerologic.

Capital City
Berlin, Germany’s capital, dates to the 13th century. Reminders of the city's turbulent 20th-century history include its Holocaust memorial and the Berlin Wall's graffitied remains. Divided during the Cold War, its 18th-century Brandenburg Gate has become a symbol of reunification. The city's also known for its art scene and modern landmarks like the gold-colored, swoop-roofed Berliner Philharmonic, built-in 1963. 

Language Spoken
German is a West Germanic language mainly spoken in Central Europe. It is the most widely spoken and official or co-official language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the Italian province of South Tyrol.

Currency
The euro banknotes and coins were introduced in Germany on 1 January 2002, after a transitional period of three years when the euro was the official currency but only existed as 'book money.'

Peak Season
The best time to visit Germany is from July to September, which is the height of Germany's peak season. This is when the weather is at its warmest for outdoor activities, beer gardens, and exploring the posh cities with ease.

LOW SEASON 
The colder German weather kicks off in November and lasts until March/April. Snow is a common occurrence in the South and East across the likes of Dresden, Stuttgart, Augsburg, and Munich, with temperatures dropping as low as 33.8°F.

In most of Germany, a country located in the center of Europe, from 47 to 55 degrees north latitude, the climate is moderately continental, characterized by cold winters, with average daily temperatures around 0 °C (32 °F) or slightly above, and warm summers, with maximum temperatures around 23/26 °C (73/79 °F) in July.
